1959 Silvertone “Jupiter” Model 1423 — All Original — Very Good Condition

Offered for sale is a vintage Silvertone Jupiter Model 1423, produced between 1959 and 1962 and sold originally through the Sears catalog during the golden era of American-made electric guitars. Built by Harmony in Chicago, the Jupiter is one of the most distinctive and sought-after Silvertone solidbody designs, known for its futuristic styling, comfortable offset body shape, and unmistakable vintage tone.

This example remains all original and is in very good condition for its age. The guitar shows honest vintage wear consistent with over 60 years of use while remaining extremely well preserved. There is a small paint chip on the back of the neck (clearly shown in photos), but otherwise the finish presents nicely.

The original DeArmond-made “silver  foil” pickup delivers the warm, articulate, and slightly microphonic character these guitars are famous for — equally at home with blues, garage rock, surf, country, or indie tones. Electronics function as intended, and the guitar plays well with comfortable action. All hardware and components appear original.

The guitar includes its original chipboard case. The case shows significant wear and is not currently in great shape, but it is complete and repairable for those wishing to preserve originality.

A fantastic opportunity to own a clean, honest example of a classic Sears-era Silvertone — a unique vintage instrument with style, history, and unmistakable character.

Please review all photos carefully and feel free to reach out with any questions.
