Up for sale is a stunningly resonant, beautifully aged 1985 Gibson Les Paul Custom in its original Pearl White finish. Over the last four decades, the nitrocellulose lacquer has yellowed naturally into a gorgeous, deep cream/antique ivory look. Weighing in at a highly desirable and well-balanced 9.0 lbs, this Custom is remarkably agile compared to the notoriously heavy anchors of this era.

This is a phenomenal player's instrument that has been upgraded to perform beautifully on stage and in the studio. It has received a professional refret, bypassing the low, flat factory wire of the mid-'80s to offer effortless playability, low action, and plenty of room for clean string bends. The truss rod is thoroughly inspected and adjusts smoothly in both directions.

The electronics have been optimized for maximum versatility. The bridge position features a high-output Gibson 498T, serving up excellent mid-range bite and aggressive rock crunch. The neck is loaded with a highly coveted mid-1980s Seymour Duncan '59, delivering warm, open, vintage PAF-voiced warmth and exceptional clarity.

Cosmetic & Character Note

This guitar wears its history with pride. A former owner left a permanent mark on the back of the body, inscribing the name "POCAHANTAS" in ink. Realizing their mistake, they added "(efffin typo's)" directly beneath it. It’s a quirky, permanent piece of character that tells a story. Best of all, because it is entirely on the back, the front-facing presentation of the guitar remains perfectly clean and iconic on a stand or stage.
