Up for sale is a truly breathtaking, elite-spec 2022 Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Heavy Relic. This masterfully crafted instrument is finished in a rare, factory-custom Gold Sparkle over Olympic White multi-layer nitro lacquer. The Custom Shop artisans have meticulously checked and worn-in the finish, allowing the Gold Sparkle to realistically flake and wear away to reveal the Olympic White undercoat and premium ash body wood below.

This specific build features two massive factory upgrades that set it far apart from standard reissues: a spectacular Roasted Flame Maple neck and a modern 9.5"–12" compound radius fretboard. The roasting process stabilizes the wood against climate changes while making the jaw-dropping flame figure pop with a rich, caramelized vintage look.

Tone & Playability

The heart of this guitar lies in its hand-wound Custom Shop Texas Special Telecaster pickups. Overwound for high output, they push tube amps into a glorious, thick midrange growl with tight bass and blisteringly clear top-end sparkle while retaining that essential Telecaster definition.

The neck profile is a substantial, period-correct Fat "U" profile that maximizes string vibration transfer to the body for monstrous sustain. Combined with the 9.5"–12" compound radius and medium-jumbol frets, chording feels perfectly round down low, while high-register bending is incredibly smooth and completely free of fretting or choking out.

Condition & Functionality

• Cosmetics: Factory Heavy Relic condition. All finish checking, dings, bare wood exposure, and hardware oxidation are entirely factory-original and intentionally executed.

• Neck & Frets: The neck back is beautifully stripped down to a smooth satin feel by the Custom Shop. The frets show essentially 100% of their playing life remaining and have been perfectly leveled and crowned from the factory.

• Electronics: 100% all-original, untouched factory solder joints. The hand-wound pickups sweep cleanly via the Master Volume and Master Tone control layout with a robust 3-way blade selector.
